Up to 28 UCAS points can be earned by taking the EPQ. Therefore, in a competitive university entrance market, this qualification is highly valued. The EPQ is a single assignment that demands extensive preparation, research, planning, and independent work. It can be finished as a performance with a 1,000-word report, an artifact, or a 5,000-word dissertation.

Students frequently take the EPQ in addition to their A-level coursework because it is a stand-alone qualification. Every year, about 30,000 students take the EPQ.
